About Us

John-Paul Rogers RIBA

John-Paul Rogers is the Director and Founder of The Architects Design Ltd in Emsworth, Hampshire, established in 2015 to pursue his passion for sustainable design and building performance. He specialises in creating healthy homes and workspaces, combining low-carbon technologies with thoughtful design to enhance how people live and work. By collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders, he ensures each project reflects their unique needs, delivering innovative and practical designs.

John-Paul studied architecture at Cardiff University and University of Portsmouth, where he earned his architectural degrees and qualifications, culminating in an MArch and MA. Before founding The Architects Design Ltd, he gained valuable experience at Axis Architecture, a respected local architect practice. There, he worked on a wide range of commercial and residential projects, learning from the directors and refining his expertise in both design, project management, and 3D computer modelling.

With deep technical expertise, John-Paul excels at diagnosing and resolving building issues, including damp, ventilation, and thermal performance. He has extensive knowledge of breathable construction methods for older properties, ensuring both modern and heritage buildings perform efficiently and comfortably.

He continually explores new design and construction methods, including Hempcrete, CLT (cross-laminated timber), SIPS (structural insulated panel systems), natural materials, and PassivHaus standards. Investment in the use of VR (virtual reality) for the design process is a priority to enhance client engagement and refine outcomes.

Outside of work, John-Paul enjoys cycling in the Hampshire countryside, Parkrun, building and sorting LEGO models with his son, growing vegetables, and attending rock music festivals. A father of two, he balances a busy work and family life and volunteers at the local Beavers colony (Scouts), helping to inspire the next generation of adventurous minds.
