Southsea - Francis Avenue
Rear Extension and Significant Internal Alterations
This project involved transforming a dilapidated lean-to extension into a modern, functional living space. The existing structure was carefully demolished, making way for a thoughtfully designed extension that retained the original footprint while incorporating significant structural improvements.
The new design features a spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area that seamlessly connects to the rear garden, creating a bright and inviting space for everyday living. The former combined living and dining area was reconfigured to create a separate, cosy living room at the front of the house, while a new utility and shower room were introduced for added convenience. Upstairs, the bathroom was enlarged by repositioning a structural bedroom wall, optimising space and comfort.
This was an exciting and rewarding project, with the client achieving an exceptional level of finish by undertaking much of the work themselves. The result is a beautifully executed home transformation that perfectly balances practicality and style.
